Poster has a red background with a white drawing of an arm breaking through a wall holding a lit torch. There is a broken dollar sign in the bottom left corner. The bottom right corner has a white bar with "Bank of Amer" in red. Across the poster is "Don't Bank on Amerika" in large letters. Verso has "an Open Letter From The Revolutionary Movement to the Bank of America" printed in black text. On February 25, 1970, protesters in the UC Santa Barbara college town of Isla Vista burned down the local branch of the Bank of America as an expression of anger against capitalism. The manifesto on the back of the poster is a classic mixture of countercultural and political utopianism. [LMC]
