Four (4) butterflies in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case.   Upper side tawny orange with thick dark veins and markings; black spots near margin. Hindwing margin angled and slightly scalloped. Underside of hindwing with a mottled pattern.They range in size from 1 1/2 x 1 to 1 5/8 x 2 3/8.  This description is from top to bottom and left to right.  The first and third one is female.  The second and fourth one is male.  The second and third one is folded. VERSO: A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward (obstructed by a hook used to hang the mount) Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: "Eupoieta Claudia" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "Sept. 13, 1930" In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"Appleton Tenn." Below in handwritten black ink is: "Variegated Fritillary". Male and Female symbols are stamped below in pink that correspond to the butterflies on recto.
