Boquet Canyon
Seven (7) butterfly in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case. Brown with brown spots on outer edge of lower wing. The following description is from left to right and top to bottom: The fourth and seventh butterflies are folded and the underside is white with brown spots. The sixth and seventh butterfly is female and the rest are male. Verso: A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: "Heodes Chrysophanus xanthoides" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "May 14, 1932" In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"Boquet Canyon Los Angeles , Co. Calif" Below in hand written black ink is "Great Copper". Male and female symbols are stamped below in pink that correspond to the butterflies on recto.
