Four (4) butterflies in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case. Upper side tawny to orange-brown with black markings. Underside of hindwing with inwardly rounded silver spots in marginal row; other silver spots are elongated. They range in size from 1 3/4 x 2 3/4 to 1 5/8 x 1 7/16. This description is from left to right and top to bottom.  The first, and third butterflies are female.  The rest are male. The middle two are folded. Verso: A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: "Argynnis Snyderi" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "see below" In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"see below" Below in hand written black ink is "Snyder's Fritillary". Male and female symbols are stamped below in pink that correspond to the butterflies on recto.
