Pr. of slippers in box.  Description: tan cloth (imitation suede) lined in felt, with a printed Indian head on either toe in yellow, with red face and feathers, green hair and feathers;

c: box bottom of tan cardboard with brown printing "Comfo Style, 565, 65, House Slippers;
d: lid of box, tan cardboard.

  Condition: a-b: mint; c-d: sooty
  History: New old stock.  See illustration of similar slipper on pg. 112 in the Spring and Summer issue of the Montgomery Ward, Oakland Catalogue for 1937.  Thos slippers sold for $.59 for boys' and women's sizes and $.54 for children's. Cieling price also stamped on the front of the box indicating that the OPA had established a ceiling price for them during World War II.
