The Tribune photo, dated July 19, 1989, has the following caption on the back: "Bob Sternfels, right, flies alongside upside-down Jerry Davis at Castro Valley in preparation for the 20th Annual Wings For Charity set for Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 pm at the Livermore Municipal Airport. Feartured performers will include wing-walkers, sky divers, a three-plane aerobatic team and World War II fighters. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $2 for children under 12. For more information, call 449-2012." Sternfels is in the cockpit of another plane; he is observing Jerry Davis flying upside down in his biplane, trailing smoke for better viewing by spectators below.
