2003.106.1

This white knit 100% cotton T-shirt was purchased as a gift for the museum at the 2003 Stanford/Cal "Big Game," which was won by the University of California, Berkeley. The shirt has short sleeves and a knitted neck band. Across the front of the shirt is a full color image of the Stanford Memorial Church, the Quad and palm trees framing either side. Across the top of the image are the words "Stanford University" and across the bottom is "Established 1891." Two hang tags are still in place at the black label stitched in at the nape.

The "Big Game" (football game) is a tradition that goes back over 100 years between Cal and Stanford. The two teams vie for the head of an axe.
