Blue and yellow felt rooter's cap from the University of California (when there was one campus with that title - Berkeley). One side of the cap is blue, the other yellow. Paul Broadhead, who attended the university from 1935 to 1940 (when he received his degree in Mechanical Engineering) chose to wear the cap with the yellow side out. Paul Broadhead b. 1918 - d. 1975. He joined the United States Navy and served in the Philippine Islands during World War II. He worked in the "Rad Lab" on the hill behid the Berkeley campus until 1974 - working with Jack Frank and Alvarez - working with physicists and engineers.
