Notes from back of photo: Dong Kingman, artist, in Oakland, 8th & Webster where he was born he said. January 8, 1976 January 13, 1976 published, Mon June 17, 1991. Dong Kingman 1 3/8 x 1 3/4 B-2-1x 6/16/91 Chinese man standing with sketch book in front of grocery store. He is wearing checked pants, open neck dark shirt with light polka dots, sweater with light and dark checks with diagonal chain pattern and dark two-button blazer. Believe he worked in water color. Grocery store has wooden and cardboard display boxes for fruit and vegetables on sidewalk, several prices visible, in front beneath windows. Display windows appear to have china/crockery/small appliances displays, Upper windows are divided by vertical bars' one window is open. Florescent light fixtures are visible through upper windows. Above these windows in English are visible "...n Co." followed by Chinese characters.
