Koyla/Koyla

This is one in a series of 12 textiles by Dorothe Gould Pratt given to the Oakland Museum of California. Much of her textile work was done in and/or inspired by time she lived in Turkey. This textile consists of two rows of three portraits/busts of a female (total 6), with five window-like arches on either side (total 10), with a small paisley-like motif in which is written "Koylu" or "Koyla."
