Your friend, Jack

White paper, one page typed letter from Jack Irwin in Bolinas to Bert Lane in Santa Barbara, dated December 8, 1969. Irwin says how good it was to speak to Lane on the telephone. Irwin discusses his health, not being sick, but getting what he describes as "asthma attacks that knock [him] out for a time..." In mentioning the Meteorplane he indicates that it is not finished and because of the fact that his garage floods, he won't be able to complete the work until the spring. He indicates that he's been offered $5000.00 for the Meteorplane, but if Lane can bring in $6000.00 or $7000.00 he'd give him 10%. He also talks about the OX5 engine which he has had running. He'll need $1000.00 for it, and says he'll include a snap shot of it. Also offers to share with Lane anything Lane can get over $1000.00. "So thanks again for your call, I remain; Your friend, Jack."

Image of the OX5 engine is probably 2005.24.58.
