From "Hamilton, William J. Alameda County Supervisor Died 11-6-38" folder. From caption on back of photograph: "Preparing for the unveiling of a bronze bust of the late William J. Hamilton, veteran member of the Board of Supervisors, Sunday afternoon at the Alameda County Courthouse, will be (left to right) Deputy County Clerk James C. Holland, Supervisor Harry Bartell, Dr. O. D. Hamlin, Supervisor Thomas Caldecott, Fred J. Croll, Alameda city auditor." Five men stand around a large bronze bust. All the men wear suits and ties. The bronze bust is of the head and upper shoulders of William J. Hamilton, and it sits on a marble base with an inscription that reads: "WM J Hamilton, 1875-1938. This memorial is placed here to permanently record the untiring constructive and unselfish service and outstanding leadership of WM J Hamilton during a period of great progress and development in Alameda County."
