The bow from the Yurok is made of yew wood, reinforced with deer sinew. Yew is a valuable wood for making bows and the tree is also used for anti-cancer medicines, both traditionally and in allopathic medicine (e.g. Taxol). Probably late 19th century. P.C. Klieger
