Vase debris collected from the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and Fire by Benjamin Franklin Edwards, the donor's grandfather. This is a small vase, with a round bottom part, a straight neck and straight opening. It has a mark at the bottom, that has been smeared and only the words "Novo"? and "Pottery" can be read. It appears to have been blue with white painted flowers, but it has accretions melted onto it from the fire. One piece that is partially melted into it is a fragment of another ceramic piece which was blue on the outside and white inside and has areas of open weave-like ceramic.
