This quilt made in blocks of an eight-pointed star, a variation of the Ohio Star. (The center piece of this "star" is not pieced, it is a square.) The quilt features white and pink fabrics, several calicos and other prints (mostly white or pink and faded red) and is backed in pink; the backing has been turned over the front edge to "bind" it, and that was done by machine. In the center, in a faded red, running stitch, is embroidered "1931." There are some blocks that were done in a pink fabric that has faded to almost white. There is not much loft to this quilt. It is hand quilted; the pattern in the solid white blocks is a quatrefoil with circles, and the star blocks are quilted in diagonal rows.

This quilt was used by the donor, great granddaughter of the quilter, in her Oakland home.
