This is a turned and carved vase made from African Sumac. The overall shape is spherical with a small foot base and short neck at top. The vase is decorated with vertical pierced woven bands alternating with areas carved with a pattern of multiple small holes.
Provenance: acquired by Ron Wornick on 12/31/2000 in Arizona. The artist uses an air-driven dental lab handpiece and dental burs for carving and piercing.
