"The frog in the shallow well" is a Chinese folk fable about how perceptions can limit actions. In this cartoon, Chinese revolutionary leader Mao Zedong uses that fable to encourage critical thinking. The Santa Barbara Media Task Force was an activist organization serving the UC Santa Barbara community. The lightning bolt logo evokes the one used by the Weather Underground, which split a rainbow. [LMC]
