Poster is printed on tractor feed printer paper with purple ink. In the top center is a drawing of a butterfly with images of people's faces in the body area. Poster reads, "April Coalition/ Open workshops Jan. 15-19/ Towards building a Platform for City Council Elections/ Town Meeting Jan. 23/ to determine our Platform/ Candidates Selected Jan. 30/ The People Must Be Heard!" The bottom left corner has a small square with "Register to vote" and the bottom right has a square with "Information 848-4085 1-5 PM." The April Coalition was the fruit of 1970s activists who targeted Berkeley electoral politics as a forum for social change. The April Coalition (later to become Berkeley Citizen?s Action) fielded Loni Hancock and Rick Brown for City Council, and their slate later expanded to include D?Army Bailey and Ira T. Simmons [LMC]
