The poster is printed overall with geometric shapes and wavy lines, stylized to look like brush strokes or pastel markings. The left edge has a yellow triangle, top edge an undulating form in pink, right edge a green semicircle, and bottom edge a strip of pink. The center of the poster has a stylized drawing of a section of film, rendered in the same fashion as the rest of the poster in purple and silver color with silver colored text: "10". The bottom of the poster has silver colored text at left: "Tenth / San Francisco / International", at center: "Lesbian & / Gay Film / Festival" ,and at right: "June 20-29, 1986 / Castro And / Roxie Theaters" .
