Multi-color double-sided poster printed on white paper has an unprinted background with two orange horizontal rectangles that fill the majority of the page. The upper rectangle is narrower and has, "Plains Cultural Area" printed in red font at top center. Two columns of small print appear below. A yellow graphic of the Midwest region of the United States of America appears at top left, and an image of the United States in yellow and red under an average temperature infographic appears at top right. The lower rectangle contains short biographies and color portraits of three men and one woman, Quanah Parker (1845-1911), Sitting Bull (1834?-1890), Ben Nighthorse Campbell (1933- ), and Wilma Mankiller (1945- ).
