Apparently taken the same day as a68.124.37. Associated album belonged to donor's aunt, Mrrs. H. W. Jackson (nee Alicia Betancue). Uncle Joseph Bentacue was a photographer who owned a firm called Bentacue & Ditmas. Grandfather Gladding lived on Hobart, between Telegraph and Grove and was a real estate agent for the firm, Gladding & Dam. He and three other men founded St. Paul's Church. Photo of family in front of the house (Grandfather Gladding in huge white beard) was taken in early 1870s. Other relatives include H. M. Sanborn--Florist and his brother, Edgar, who had something to do with the park commission in Oakland. Many of the relatives are from Maine (where family originated), the other half from here. TH (D. Cooper, 5/2003) Hobart St. is now 21st St. in Downtown Oakland.
