Fan. Description: Mother-of-pearl and ivory frame. Stretched w/floral patterned lace. Tassel on handle. Embossed floral motif on handle w/gold and silver color. Beautiful tassel - exquisitely made silk lace, probably Brussels, made for the fan. Mother of pearl guards and stays with a paste jewel at rivet on each side. Stamped with silver and gold, very expensive looking. (Joan Severa, 3/1/1994) Inez Brooks-Myers, August 27, 2008: This folding fan has a Brussels lace leaf,mother-of-pearl sticks and guards stamped with gilt and and metallic "silver" foil. The tassel is of silk chenille and silk twist.
