Dress. Description: One red party dress; bodice, front and back are of silk cut velvet, scoop neck, no sleeves; side panels of georgette. Good condition. History: Mrs. Davis was a student at Mills College; the dress she has donated to us was probably worn during her Senior year. Her mother made it for her from material purchased in Santa Rosa. Mrs. Davis also said that when she wore this dress, her hair was long; bobbing hair was a big issue at Mills in those days - akin to smoking! Cute!! She was a hot number! (Joan Severa, 3/9/1994)
