juicer. Description: metal juicer, used to squeeze citrus frutis, has triangular base and long handle. condition: good. Dimensions: height 5" base 3". History: used during WW II by donor. From the History Information Station: Object: Fruit juicer. History: Despite wartime food rationing, Californians still had lots of oranges and grapefruits. The citrus fruits were grown right here, so Californians could drink fresh orange juice even though trucks and trains were too clogged with war materials to get the fruit to the rest of the country. Industrious housewives also juiced berries and other fruits to make jelly. Of course, a lot of fruit went to the boys overseas. Gift of Mary Fabilli
