Tribune caption, Dec. 5, 1946-- "The police officer, back to camera, settles a clash after pickets had attacked Charles Hill, Berkeley (extreme right), who was mistaken by pickets for a strikebreaker." Photo shows a large crowd of men gathered around a police officer. One of the strikers is speaking earnestly to the policeman. Standing to the far left of the photo is Hill, listening to the conversation between the policeman and striker. Hill is dishelved and his tie is askew.
