Tribune caption on the back, September 5, 1960-- "A KAHN'S BY ANY OTHER NAME--That department store chain with outlets in Downtown Oakland, San Pablo and Concord- known as Kahns- will be known as Rhodes, effective tomorrow. No change in ownership, management or policy was involved." Photo shows workers on a ladder leaning against the building mounting the letters for the "Rhodes" sign on the facade of the store. A "Kahns" sign is still hanging above the entrance to the store. People are walking by under the ladders on the sidewalk.
