Clipping on the back of the photo reads, "Confrontation builds up in front of Kahn's on Telegraph at 16th during Oakland's 1946 general strike. April 8, 1976." Handwritten in blue pencil above clipping "Tues early, Tuesday early morning crowd gathering at Kahn's." Photo shows Kahns with a good size crowd gathering in front of it. A group of men and women are marching in front of an entrance to Kahn's and the crowd appears to be watching them. Several police are standing gruard nearby. Cars are driving up and down the street in front of the store and several people, including a man walking a bicycle, are crossing the street in the crosswalk. Christmas decorations are blocking the name of the store next to Kahns but next to that store is the Modern Pants Factory store.
